personality:Angel has a sweet disposition and a great temperament. Most horses that she has met say that she does not have a mean bone in her body. She is refined for a 2 year old. She is spirited and lives to have fun. Life to her is all a big game. She doesn't take too many things seriously and tends to play around all day. She is a "people pleaser." She wants everyone around her to be happy but, doesn't always know how to make that happen. Her bubbly personality is generally the center of attention and that is just the way she likes it. She tends to be an attention hog which generally leads to others not liking her too much. She always wants to make friends with everyone but sometimes that gets her in trouble. She likes making friends, playing, and, exploring. She dislikes horses that are too uptight, stressy horses and needing to work.
History: Angel was born into an average sized herd. It consisted of her father who was the only male, her mother who was one of 5 other mares and, her four half-siblings. The herd was doing fine. They had ample amounts of food and a steady supply of water. All of the horses that lived with her were healthy and moderately happy. The horses in her herd were split on whether they liked Angel. Sometimes the adults would talk about the little foal that she was to try to decide if she was a good addition to the herd. Angel's mother, had only produced males in her past breedings so, this would be her first foal that would actually stay with the herd. Her mother loved her like all mothers love their children but, the rest of the herd wasn't so sure about the exotic colored foal. Her bubbly personality usually kept attention on her and could get her into trouble if she ever met a dangerous horse. Her half-siblings disliked her because she generally got all of the attention. They didn't realize that not all of the attention was good attention. The adults hoped that she would settle down into a more controllable mare. It was unnatural for a female to be so energetic. Most herds expected a female to be submissive and compliant. Angel was opinionated and had loads of energy. She often got in trouble for speaking out of turn or disrespecting her elders. She never took the punishments seriously because life was just a game. Nothing really mattered and she was positive that they were just playing to hard. She has never been the type to hold grudges and she generally forgives quickly so, she was never mad at the adults for doing what they did. Her punishments were never that bad. She was never beaten or starved or anything of the sort. She was merely punished by the stallion. He generally just have her a few nips and a very angry look.
One day, after she turned one and a half, she wandered off in search of something interesting to do. Her herd was doing nothing fun. They never did anything fun. They just stood around and ate. She snorted in laughter at how boring their lives were. She trotted away from the group without anyone noticing. Her gait was bouncy and bubbly like her personality. She had almost a skip in her step. She was in no hurry to get anywhere so her trot wasn't very fast. She said hello to a rabbit who a near by and talked with a few birds. The young filly had been trotting around and finding nothing interesting to do. The butterflies weren't around for her to play with and all the little woodland creatures were not too fond of being played with. It displeased her that there was nothing to do in all of the land that her father owned. She spotted the river and walked over to it. She took several big gulps until she had her fill. The water tasted cool and it ran down her throat like butter but, when it hit her stomach it was like a kick in the gut. She had been exercising for quite some time and the cold water was not good for her. What she needed was Luke-warm water but, in the wild they didn't have such luxuries. She decided to rest for a bit by the water. She wondered if her family was missing her. She doubted it. They didn't accept her for her. They wanted her to change. She snorted.
She heard footsteps. They were not horses. It sounded like the creature only had two legs. They were too heavy sounding to be birds. What were they? She took the opportunity to meet new creatures. They were ugly horses that only had hair on the top of their heads. Their front legs were much shorter than their back ones and the stood straight up. They were odd creatures. She whinnied to greet them but, they gave her no reply. They had ropes and other things. They threw several ropes around her neck and pulled the young one and a half year old to the ground. They injected her with an anesthetic. Everything went black. The humans were planning to take her to Africa to repopulate the horses there but, the ship that they were transporting her on had hit rock and began to sink. Angel was fully awake at this time and had escaped her holding place. She got out in the water and began to swim. Her endurance was really going to help her now. She wasn't a strong swimmer because of her compact size but, she made it to the shore of Equibellum completely exhausted and hungry. She spent the next six months of her life traveling around the island in search of a nice place to live and new horses to meet.
